The need for small, portable, quick-open-and-close tents was great and the military had none on hand. We embarked on the development of a 4-person completely waterproof, ventilated tent, with the measurements of 2.5m x 2.5m wide x 2m high. A major challenge was that it shouldn’t take the tent longer than 60 seconds to open and close. However, above all considerations, our self-imposed precondition was that we had to develop the tent with materials and processes, such that we may convince a local textile manufacturer in Armenia to produce it.

We imported several samples from overseas, and after much difficulty, found a local manufacturer to make the tent for us. Seven samples and numerous tests later, we had developed the perfect portable military-grade tent.

We ordered 400 tents and in November 2016, delivered them to the Army logistics.
